Frequently asked questions

How do I erase my data?

Open Settings in the app, then Your data, then Clear my data. Deleting the app also removes everything it stored. Your data is held only on your device, so we never receive it and cannot erase it for you.

Why is an estimate different from a real quote?

Cacy shows benchmarks built from published market data and modelling. An insurer prices you using underwriting factors that Cacy does not see. Our figures are not offers, are not binding, and are not guaranteed to be available to you. Always confirm coverage and pricing directly with the insurer.

Where do the numbers come from and how current are they?

Sources shown in the app include NAIC statutory filings, the CMS Marketplace API and CMS open enrolment files, the FEMA National Risk Index, KFF survey data, AM Best ratings, S&P Global, Quadrant Information Services, and published Canadian outlooks from MoneyGeek, MyChoice, PolicyAdvisor and PolicyMe. The app refreshes market data, and that request contains no personal information. Source data can be delayed, incomplete or superseded, and we do not independently verify it.

Canadian per-insurer rates are not published openly because GISA data is licensed, so Canadian figures are provincial averages and estimates.

Does Cacy sell my data?

No. There is no analytics, no advertising SDK, no Advertising Identifier, no tracking cookies, no data brokers, and no selling or renting of data. There is no account and no server-side user database, so the operator holds no personal data about any user.

Does Cacy sell insurance?

No. Cacy is not an insurance agency, broker, producer, agent or advisor. It does not sell policies, takes no commissions and no referral fees, and does not send your information to insurers. The app is completely free, with no subscription, no in-app purchase and no payment processing.

What is KAI, and what happens to what I type into it?

KAI is an optional assistant. If you send it a question, that question and the quote details you entered are transmitted to Anthropic PBC in the United States, which operates the Claude model that writes the answer. If you never open KAI, nothing is ever sent. See the Anthropic privacy policy. KAI answers can be wrong, outdated or incomplete, and are not professional advice. Do not enter sensitive personal, medical or financial identifiers.

Which regions does Cacy cover?

The United States and Canada, for car, home, life and health insurance. The app includes a map of insurers by state and province.

What is the live health plan lookup?

It is optional. It sends your ZIP code, age and household income to the CMS Marketplace API run by the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the public service behind HealthCare.gov, to return real plans and subsidy figures. No name is sent and no enrolment happens.
